This is the most challenging Christmas song I play and is a whole lot of fun playing the melody and improvising over Sleigh Ride written by Leroy Anderson in 1949.
I play Sleigh Ride in a smooth jazz samba groove jam feel and always find new twists and turns improving over the melody. I hope to perform this with a Jazz trio in the future where I’m sure a whole lot of creative options would unfold during the performance of this great tune.
In this One Man Band performance I’m playing an American Elite Stratocaster HSS Shawbucker Electric Guitar with a Boss Me-80 guitar multi-effects pedal which goes into a Boss RC-30 Loop Pedal and finally through a Fishman Solo Performance System SA220 PA.
