🎶 Summertime – Porgy and Bess Cover (Soulful Guitar & Vocals Performance)

In this performance, I’m playing my soulful funk cover of “Summertime” from Porgy and Bess, originally composed by George Gershwin with lyrics by DuBose Heyward for the opera Porgy and Bess in 1935. I’ve given this classic tune a fresh, soulful twist, and I enjoy how it allows me to improvise and make the song my own while respecting its timeless beauty.
This live music performance was recorded at the Desert Mountain Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, at the Cochise / Geronimo Clubhouse restaurant on August 3, 2019. I’ve been performing for the Desert Mountain community since 2002, and it’s a fantastic place to entertain and connect with my audience.

I used the loop feature in the VE-8 to create a loop of the verse and chorus chord changes, which gave me the foundation to solo over.
