Here’s a version of O Tannenbaum also known as O Christmas tree on the mandolin.
The song is based on a traditional folk song, it became associated with the traditional Christmas tree by the early 20th century and sung as a Christmas carol. The modern lyrics were written in 1824, by the Leipzig organist, teacher, and composer Ernst Anschütz. (according to Wikipedia)
It’s always fun playing O Tannenbaum on the mandolin and exploring the twists and turns it offers harmonically and in 3/4 time adds a nice challenge for making the changes and executing this Christmas Song with heart and soul.
In this One Man Band performance, I’m playing a Michael Kelly Acoustic-Electric Legacy Dragonfly Flame Mandolin with a Boss Me-80 guitar multi-effects pedal which goes to a Boss RC-30 Loop Pedal and finally through a Fishman Solo Performance System SA220 PA.
