“A Tu Vera” (Beside You), composed by Juan Solano Pedrero and Rafael de León, is one of my favorite songs to play instrumentally on mandolin. The chord structure and grooves in this song have inspired me, and I’m planning to write a few original pieces based on this style in the future. I love performing this tune because of its energy and the connection it creates with the audience.
This live music performance was recorded at the Desert Mountain Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, at the Cochise / Geronimo Clubhouse restaurant on August 3, 2019. I’ve been performing for the Desert Mountain community since 2002, and it’s a privilege to entertain such an amazing crowd.

I used the loop feature in the VE-8 to create a loop of the verse and chorus chord changes, which gave me the foundation to solo over.
