I’ve always loved playing “Christmas Time Is Here” from A Charlie Brown Christmas, written by Lee Mendelson and Vince Guaraldi. The nostalgic and melancholic feeling of the song brings out a bluesy vibe in my performance, while also pushing me to explore the twists and turns in the chord progression. I’ll be remixing this song for Christmas 2019 with a jazz trio feel, staying closer to Vince Guaraldi’s version, and adding vocals as well.
For this One Man Band performance, I’m playing a RainSong Black Ice Series BI-WS1000N2 Graphite Carbon Fiber Acoustic-Electric Guitar, with a Boss ME-80 guitar multi-effects pedal, going through a Boss RC-30 Loop Pedal and a Fishman Solo Performance System SA220 PA.
